Thanksgiving included scattering my moms and grandmothers (who passed away a few years ago) ashes. We picked a beautiful area near a wooded lake by my sisters house. I didn't think about it too much and just did the ritual, because it is qu
ite odd to be holding your mom in a 12" square box. I also learned that, if I do this again in the future, to walk backwards when scattering ashes, otherwise you end up with them on your pants and shoes. Which is even more disconcerting. But, always good to be with my sister and her kids, it was a beautiful day, and after we finished, it started to snow and covered the ashes. Couldn't have worked out better for what it was. :-)
