Artists Assemble! Stan Lee's Yo! Custom Figure Group Show!

My contribution to the
"Artists Assemble! Stan Lee's Yo! Custom Figure Group Show."
We were given this little bald headed underwear
garbed character to work with and transform him into
a superhero that Stan The Man himself would marvel at.
First thing was to chop off the head and
add a more appealing doll head.
Then came the transformmation to a bearded
tattooed sideshow woman.
Why?
Because they're really, really
underrepresented it the funny page world of crime fighters.

Thrift Scores!

Got together with 2 of my rough 'n tumble male friends for
an afternoon of testosterone filled …antiquing.
Well, really going to thrift stores.
Now you can imagine you had the privilege of hanging with 3 he-men
as I share a few highlights of "one man's treasure"…

Just a little off the top.

Who is the target audience for this 5" thick wall hanging?

Attention Dan and Margo Kadjan!
I found something of yours!

I thought I had seen all the world's masterworks of art, until I saw these.
What genius would have the skill and imagination

to take sticks of marble, add a few strokes of pigment
and create something for the ages?!
THIS ARTIST HAS!
Still, I'm not paying $3 each for 'em.

I am on a never-ending quest to make the world a better place.
That's just the kinda guy I am.
Tomorrow, I'll be leaving the house at 9am armed with the knowledge
from this book and a pair of sheers.
Poodle owners …no thanks necessary!

This seems to be some school project of a
homemade Insane Clown Posse mask.
I predict big things for this student!

Jus sayin'

I can't make fun of a fellow sexy elder statesman!
You go girl!

When I purchased a music box of one clown riding a unicorn last year,
I assumed, as anyone would,

that I had reached the pinnacle of my thrift shopping career.
That is, until today!

And what better way to bid you all goodnight?!

Voted BEST Wedding Video EVER (and you can have one too)!

Alyson and I found out that the BEST way to remember the most important day of your life is with a "Johnson Brand Editing" film!
The proof? See for yourself!
Just click on the link to the World's greatest wedding video
by superstar filmmaker Brian Johnson!

Even if I wasn't watching my own nuptials, the 17 minutes fly by with amazing editing, awesome animation, gorgeous graphics and perfect musical selections. We've all seen the deathly dull ones that just consist of talking heads of relatives and a stationary shot of the exchange of vows that seems to be 4 hours, only suitable for the bride and groom sitting through once, but Johnson finds the highlights, along with the important parts, adds more icing and decorations than you had on your wedding cake, and delivers the most cherished present you'll ever get!
Special thanks also go out to our hilarious friends who gave him a lot to work with! :-)
Y' see, we had a MAD magazine vibe which comes across in the film, if you're more Town and Country or Guns and Ammo, that's what be reflected in the finished time capsule.
On a side note, if you have a "Girls Gone Wild" theme,
Brian tells me there's a 10% discount!
If you'd also like the koolest keepsake of your wedded bliss, contact him to preserve your memories as only he can!

Dillicious!

Yesterday at the Rotofugi Opening Night (we were there to see pal CHema Skandal's exhibit) pal (and curator) David van Alphen told me he had something special to give me, but I had to wait 'till the store closed to get it. I had a few beverages across the street,
then returned promptly at 10pm.
He hooked his bony finger at me as I followed him outside through the rainy darkness.
We came to his secluded car and he creaked open the steel trunk.
"Look inside Mitch" he cackled.
I couldn't see anything!
"Why don't you lean way in and see if you find it?" David helpfully suggested.
I pretty much had my whole body in the trunk when I looked over my shoulder and noticed that he had both hands tensed on top of the trunk hood. As passing headlights illuminated us and he quickly jumped back. Just then I touched upon a jar and pulled it out. "Is this it?" I exclaimed. "Uh, ...yes." he dejectedly stammered.
So, thanks Dave for his delicious Suckerpunch Pickles,
the tastiest in the tri-state area (and available all over Chicago)!

You're only as old as the sum of the years since you were born!

There's a new magazine for the "active lifestyle" generation! Produced by my dad, Robert O'Connell, and designed by Joseph Allen Black this is must reading (ie: having their caretaker read it to them) for one of those 50+ wrinkly people
(fyi
50 years old is like your great grandparents).
So the next time you see a disoriented and lost 50 year old shuffling unaware through traffic with some sort of mushed vegetable stains on the front of their bathrobe and drooling (or is that butterscotch pudding?) on his way (the senior babbles) to "buy" a "cd" at a "record store," please shoo away the teen delinquents who have found his home address pinned to his sleeve in the hopes of returning him for the reward, and direct him to one of the 100's of California locations where he can get a copy of "LifeStyles."
The price is right, as it says on the cover "FREE" and added to avoid confusion underneath, "TAKE ONE."
My dad's guarantee?
TRIPLE your money back if you aren't delighted.
