Fixing, Fiddling and Tinkering.

Remember the Belmont Burlesque poster from a few days back? I had reused an old Playboy spot illo and added some type thinking it was a funny "X-Ray Specs" gag, until it dawned on me that he wasn't wearing official old school specs in the painting. The article was about some new-fangled glasses that, by now, no one remembers or cares about.
I had a Photoshop party and changed it all up.
N'Joy the new and improved!

Fun Fact- the orginal J. D. Salinger quotes was not,"How long should a man's legs be? Long enough to touch the ground." it was "How big should a man's ball's be? Big enough to touch the ground!"

Get Smart!

Speaking of Joe Kovach, he has a new book out, "This Quintessence of Dust (Discovering Who We Are from Ancient Greece to the Modern World)" As you might be able to tell from the title, this tome is the polar opposite of the monthly James Patterson co-written, passing time at the airport, nonsense.
You (and I) might actually learn something!
In fact, years back, for a school assignment, Leo had to interview the smartest person he knew. He instantly dialed up his Grandfather. I just recently stopped pouting.

Photo Fun!

Our poor yelling toddler can't catch a break. Now he's trapped in Santa's ominous fully stocked toolshed.
I hope he's been good!

There will be hell to pay unless someone tells Grandma where they hid her teeth.

Chicago Burlesque!

I've already got my tickets!

ANOTHER genius!

During the kids and my roadtrip to Kansas to visit their Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and cousins, (and as far as I'm concerned, still In-Laws, Brother/Sister In-Laws and Nieces/Nephews, besides being some of my favorite folks) we stopped at artist/sculpture/family friend extraordinaire Jim Bass's home/studio. He graciously gave us a tour, explained the sculpting/casting process, showed us works in progress and reminisced about his recently departed wife Jean (who was equally wonderful).
One humorous snippet gives you a peek into the Joe and Magdalene (grandparents) dynamics. Jim pointed at a stylish photo of he and wife from the '60's. He recounted that his long standing joke was, "With those fishnets, Jean caught herself a 186 pound Bass!". Joe, who is sometimes hard of hearing missed it, so Magdalene turned to him and yelled, "Jean caught a 186 pound fish!!!" Joe nodded as if that were a completely normal fun fact to pass along.
